Rue

In chapter 14, Katniss finds an unlikely ally in her tree; the young mysterious girl Rue. Katniss decides to become allies with her since she's cunning & also reminds her of her sister Prim. The two become a strong pair for a while, even managing to break up a large team of career tributes. Katniss also finds that Peeta has teamed up with them. At one point however, Katniss & Rue are out hunting & a career tribute kills Rue. Katniss also kills that tribute with her bow & arrow. She becomes greatly saddened when Rue dies.
So, will Katniss be able to outlast the others without her ally Rue? Why or why not?
